Governor puts a stop to initial slot proposal in South Dakota, but does not shut the door on the issue

July 25

Most online slots players like to keep up on the latest legal developments regarding online slots, land-casino slots, and slots from all over the World, here is a very interesting development regarding slots in South Dakota, US.

A proposed plan by the Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate Tribe to increase the number of slot machines at the Dakota Sioux Casino has been shot-down by the Governor.

In responding to the proposal, the governor stated that he was not in favor of the tribe's plan to add five hundred more slot machines to it's casino. The governor added that he was willing to continue talking with that tribe on this subject.

Officials from the tribe stated that they would continue dealing with the governor regarding plans to add more slots. Currently, the casino and attached hotel are under construction. The casino is said to be a nearly $8 million dollar effort to bring additional economy to the immediate area.

The tribe is confident that it will be able to come to some sort of deal in the future regarding additional slots.

The ability to add more slot machines will only result in more jobs and economic stability to an area of South Dakota that is in need of a boost.

Many insiders feel that the governor is just trying to be fair to all tribes and are hopeful changes will be made in the amount of slots all tribes are aloud to have.

The tribe believes the governor is concerned with treating all tribes equally, Crawford said. But expansion of tribal gaming should be based on certain standards and the economic viability of each tribe.
